Cats don't always drink back what dry food takes out.
Research comparing healthy cats on dry, mixed and wet diets found that cats drinking more from the bowl on dry food still had lower total water intake than cats eating wet food. That is why food moisture is worth thinking about.
Wet cat food is commonly around 70–80% water, while dry food is much lower in moisture. We use that science as a practical reason to encourage wet food—not as a promise that one feeding style prevents or treats disease.
Cats with kidney, urinary, diabetic or other medical concerns can have special nutritional needs. Bring us what you are feeding now and any recommendations from your vet. We can help you compare the foods we carry and find an option that works for your cat, your household and their care plan.
